Helikon Memorial

It is hard to imagine how György Festetics had the time to organise a nationally renowned literary event at all. With the purpose of celebrating culture together, he invited landowners, scientists and writers to the festival, which lasted several days and featured theatrical performances, a ball and writers' programs. This is how the Helikon Festival was conceived, and these traditions were revived in the 20th century.
