Strong as a buffalo! - A common turn of phrase in Hungarian, few people really know this animal native to Hungary. The reserve of the Balaton Highlands National Park has the largest buffalo population in Hungary. It can be a thrilling adventure for young and old to watch these animals of breathtaking proportions. Besides buffalos, you can also encounter a herd of grey cattle and get to know the wildlife of Kis-Balaton area by visiting the smaller exhibitions in the park. The reception building also offers coffee and refreshments, publications, souvenirs and even buffalo salami.
