Church of Nagyrada

Rada was once the property of the Zalavár Abbey. The village was first mentioned in written form in 1263. The abbey owned a house and a manor house here, and a parish priest had been serving in the village since 1256. The three-aisled Roman Catholic church that can be visited today was built in neo-Gothic style between 1890 and 1894. The tower of the church can be spotted from a distance. St. István is the patron saint of the village, which is why he is portrayed on a painting by János Vaszary on the altarpiece of the central aisle.
