Rózsaliget Rose Grove

At some point in the 1920s a man named Gyula Gonauer, the chief gardener of Siófok, dreamed of a magnificent coastal promenade with a rose garden instead of the once marshy, boggy shore. Since then, Rózsaliget, meaning rose grove, has been perfuming the air from spring to autumn. It has become a popular place for lovers, the backdrop scenery for the Cross-Balaton swims and an essential feature on the postcards sent from the town.
