Tomb of Jóska Savanyó

The grave of the famous Bakony betyár (Hungarian word meaning outlaw or highwayman) can be found in the cemetery of Tótvázsony, next to which a short biography tells the story of this brigand known for his cruelty and ingenuity. The original story of the outlaw, who is said to be a big fan of wine and entertainment, is full of twists and turns. As we read the story the world of the late 19th century comes to life - forest hideaways, roadside taverns and one-course meals in a caldron appear in our imagination.
