+70km marked bike trail in Balaton Highlands – BB365 Port now open in Vigántpetend

The BalatonBike365 network has introduced a new, approximately 70-kilometer cycling route in the Balaton Uplands, alongside the opening of the BalatonBike365 Port in Vigántpetend.

The BalatonBike365 network has expanded yet again. The newly inaugurated 70-kilometer route winds through 10 villages, six of which are joining the BB365 network for the very first time. This expansion doesn't just add mileage; it creates vital links to existing trails and opens the door for future connections toward the Bakony mountains.

Built for Every Rider

Navigating the new section is seamless, thanks to 376 directional and reassuring signs installed across 160 locations. The terrain is intentionally diverse:

  • A mix of surfaces: Roughly equal parts asphalt, gravel, and dirt roads.

  • Choose your path: In several sections, paved and unpaved alternatives run parallel, allowing everyone—from families on road bikes to gravel enthusiasts—to find their ideal path.

More Than Just a Trail: A Cultural Experience

The Balaton Uplands are famous for volcanic peaks, rolling vineyards, and charming village architecture. Along the new route, local businesses—including wineries, artisan producers, and cozy accommodations—are fully integrated into the BB365 network. Here, cycling is not just exercise; it’s a deep dive into local gastronomy and heritage.

Vigántpetend: Your New Basecamp

Located at 33 Kossuth Street, the newly opened BalatonBike365 Port in Vigántpetend serves as the heart of this development. It functions as a:

  • Bike rental center (including e-bikes).

  • Tour starting point and meeting hub.

  • Information desk for up-to-date trail conditions and local sights.

Voices from the Opening

"Our goal is to expand the rideable network every year. This development is a prime example of how a village can become an organic part of the cycling community. Located in the heart of the new network, the Vigántpetend Port is the perfect starting point for single or multi-day tours."

László Szilasi, Professional Leader of BalatonBike365.

"We want visitors to do more than just pass through; we want them to stay and discover our local treasures. This hub and the signposted trails help guests truly experience the nature and atmosphere of our region."

Dániel Győriványi, Mayor of Vigántpetend.

"For me, the Balaton means freedom—not just on the water, but on the shore too. When you’re on a bike, you see the landscape differently; you get closer to the places and the people. The Kali Basin is exactly the kind of region where every ride offers a new experience."

Jonatán Vadnai, Olympic Sailor & VisitBalaton365 Ambassador.
