Nothing shows better that you are in an old wine-growing area than the name Balatonszőlős ("szőlő" means grape in Hungarian), which is already mentioned in a document in the 12th century. Two centuries later a stone church was built here, which has been home to the Reformed Church since the late 16th century. The building is a special place, and at the entrance, sitting in the so-called "sitting chamber" and leaning your back against the wall, you can feel the awe of the centuries.
