Introduction

Bátran mondhatjuk, hogy Somogy megye várai között Kereki vára ikonikusnak számít. A több mint 100 somogyi középkori és kora újkori vár és erődítés között ugyanis ez az egyetlen, amelynek jelentős felmenő falai maradtak meg. Míg Kereki település átlagos tengerszintfeletti magassága 200 méter körül van, addig a vár 283 méteren fekszik. A környék, és egyben Somogy legmagasabb pontja is a közelben található: a 316 méter magas Almán-tető.
