Introduction

Baron Frigyes Korányi, a professor of medicine, was one of the aristocrats who built a summer home in the increasingly popular holiday resort at the end of the 19th century. The building resembles a smaller castle, was built in the neo-Romanesque style popular in the era and shows that even on the shores of Lake Balaton, the social elite of the epoch considered prestige more important than comfort in terms of living space.
