Introduction

The spring of St. Jakab (St. James), feeding the Forrás Lake in the northern part of Vászoly, supplies fresh, cold water from the nearby limestone mountains to the village. The surroundings of the spring are perfect for cyclists to relax, as the whole landscape is filled with peace and quiet. In the picturesque setting, the marble spring stone sparkles with the shell motif of the famous St. James's Pilgrimage Route. St. James is regarded as the patron saint of the village.
