It shouldn't be a problem to get food and drink along the route: on the Balaton-Highland there is always something good to eat, fine wines and refreshing drinks to sample. The gastronomic revolution of the last few years can be spotted here as well: traditional bakeries, speciality cafés as well as modern wineries can be found on the way. 4. Detailed tour description
The starting point of the tour is Badacsonytomaj. From the centre of the historic wine region, a low-traffic country road leads towards Káptalantóti. The road to Káptalantóti is rather gently ascending and easy to ride. The road leads through beautiful scenery in the Balaton wine region, amongst enormous vineyards. Along the way, you also pass the Istvándy winery, where you can also admire the impressive herd of grey cattle in the pastures.
If you arrive in Káptalantóti on a Saturday, you will surely stumble upon the Tóti market, which is a bustling place all year round. It is worth taking a backpack for the tour, as the market offers a wide variety of artisanal products from the Balaton Highlands, from cheese to jam to unique gifts.
