3. Ambience
No matter if you prefer to ride this 23-kilometre long route by e-bike or not, you can anticipate that the short distance circuit from Balatonfüred to Hidegkút with its 500-meter elevation difference will still take almost the whole day to complete. "Progressing with consideration" - this philosophy is justified not only by the roots of Balatonfüred in the so-called Reform Period of the 19th century but also by the heritage of other eras that can be explored on this tour. From New Wave cafés to classic garden restaurants, from an interactive exhibition room to old Swabian houses: a whole range of attractions is at your disposal, which, like a snapshot, preserve the past or reflect the present. Balatonfüred and its surroundings seem like a revived atlas of history, and if that were not enough, there is also the wonderful landscape that makes the adventure complete - the shores of Lake Balaton, vineyards, woods, a brook valley and a lookout point.
4. Detailed tour description

Ride in the direction of Nemesleányfalu on the low-traffic country road following the signs for trail 230. After 3 km turn left onto a well-maintained forestry road. You can cycle in a beautiful forest scenery, passing the forest school of Bakonyerdő Zrt. The path ascends slightly but steadily until you reach the Pirkanci Forest. Here you come to a large intersection where you turn left and ride along trail 235 on a breathtaking plateau, on the ridge line in the Nivegy Valley above Balatoncsicsó, Szentjakabfa and Óbudavár. The Nivegy Valley is a widespread stretch of land with breathtaking vineyards and a view of Lake Balaton in the background. This section is one of the most beautiful rides in the Balaton Highlands.
At the Óbudavár bend you can unwind at the terrace of the recently opened Budavári Liget and enjoy a delicious Nivegy Valley spritzer or a tasty homemade fruit syrup while admiring the gorgeous view.
After Mencshely, follow trail 230 again and after 1.5 km turn onto a low-traffic paved road towards Vöröstó and head back to Nagyvázsony.
