Description
1. Route description, explanation of signs
The trail numbers on this tour are: 233, 230, 234, the tour is marked as olive green C. Gravelled dirt roads: 4.5 km, low-traffic public roads: 9 km.

2. Difficulty factors in the tour
From the starting point in Szentantalfa a gravel path leads 2 km up the slopes of Tagyon Hill, which makes this section slightly challenging. The second kilometre leads on an unpaved and stony agricultural dirt road. After that, the route continues flat on paved roads up to Hegyestű.

3. Ambience
Szentantalfa and the surrounding area of the town embraces the mountain slopes like a multi-row pearl necklace. This 14 kilometre round trip, which includes gentle climbs as well as long, winding paths and a varied landscape, showcases a number of the finest pearls of the jewel: the best wineries, the most beautiful vineyard paths and the most valuable art historical sights. There are a number of wineries that invite you for a short tasting. After you leave the cultivated landscape with vineyards and poplar trees behind you ride between houses again. The lakeshore villas from the turn of the century are not to be found here though, the buildings are much older in this area: a 1000 year old church ruin, a synagogue built on a medieval foundation and residential houses from the classicism.

4. Detailed tour description
The starting point of the tour is the Zsóka Fogadója in Szentantalfa, an inn and restaurant open all year round. It is an ideal starting point, as it offers high-quality accommodation, a secure bicycle storage room and good cuisine. It is possible to organise several days' worth of cycling tours in the picturesque Nivegy valley from here.
Furthermore, the estate headquarters of the Dobosi Winery also offers quality services, among them premium e-bike rentals.
The tour starts on trail 233, at the football field in Szentantalfa. The start is a bit rough on an unpaved, stony forest path, afterwards you can enjoy a great panoramic view of Lake Balaton on the slopes of Tagyon Hill. After that, you reach the foothill of Hegyestű in the direction of Monoszló. It is worth taking a detour uphill to the Geological Showground. The way up there is short and steep, so you sometimes have to walk the bike, but the view is definitely worth the effort.
The next stop is Monoszló, one of the most beautiful villages of the Balaton Highlands. The location is optimal for cycling tourism because from this point you can easily cycle to Balatonhenye and the Káli basin, or even to Nagyvázsony on a gorgeous forest path. On this tour, however, you will ride to Balatoncsicsó on trail 234, amongst the vineyards, on an excellent paved bike path.
In Balatoncsicsó there is a pleasant pub that is open all year round. From there, a low-traffic country road leads back to Szentantalfa.
