The gravel bike tour starts from the centre of Balatonfüred's old town, from the Red Church, following route 242. Within Füred's borders, the gravel road winds its way through the Zelna vineyards, offering a breathtaking panorama of Lake Balaton. We arrive in Balatonszőlős, touching the edge of the village, and ride on a gravel agricultural road through the historical wine region, still on route 242, until we reach Pécsely. Here, we turn right and begin a three-kilometre climb on the gravel agricultural road (route 240) to Zádor Castle ruins. Upon reaching the top of the hill, a stunning view unfolds before us. We continue on the gravel road, following route 239, and roll into the village of Barnag. From here, an asphalt section follows. Along this route, you can stop at the Szeszélyes Nyár small restaurant in Vöröstó, or at the Kinizsi restaurant in Nagyvázsony. Both places are open year-round. After Nagyvázsony, we cycle on route 230 through Nemesleányfalu. After two kilometres, we turn left onto a spectacular gravel forest road. We ride for five kilometres in a wonderful woodland setting. After a pleasant descent, we join the asphalt agricultural road (route 234) and ride into Szentantalfa. From here, we leave the village on route 233 and arrive in Dörgicse via an agricultural dirt road. If time permits, it's worth visiting the lavender plantation or the Kaáli Car Museum (advance reservation required). We continue following route 233, but now on asphalt, cycling to Vászoly. You'll find St. James's Spring in the picturesque village centre with a beautiful small pond. The charming Kuti Kerti Restaurant is located here. From Vászoly, there's a nearly 3 km descent to Balatonudvari. Here, we join the Balaton Bike Ring and follow it back to Balatonfüred.
